Some control over in-comment images would help a lot. It would be nice if I could tap an image to view it in full-screen mode or tap and drag to arbitrarily resize (like the drag handle on images in reddit enhancement suite.) Often images are too small and hard to see.

Not sure if it’s applicable to comment images; but under advanced then 'media viewer’s, there is a toggle for always loading HQ images with deep zoom enabled (or something to that effect).
That does not affect inline images on comments, it just defaults to zoning in when you click an image post.
