Good luck if you want to escape CloudFlare: it sits between you and half of the internet even if you don’t see it. This scary company is almost scarier than Google because it operates mostly in the background and out of sight, but it’s just as invasive.
You only get your pants in a knot in this case because you see them. But if you truly want to escape CloudFlare, you should stop being online altogether.
There’s really no other choices?
If u are curious more about cloudflare here to read.https://0xacab.org/dCF/deCloudflare/-/blob/master/readme/en.md
Very interesting to see all these points consolidated into one place like this. Thanks for sharing!
Well, their big competition is AWS (Amazon web services) and Google.
Lots of steps to “figure it out”. Could’ve just pinged the hostname.
Not a big secret. Pretty sure they even announced it.
Op must be a leet haxor with extra steps
Is torservices safe to use? Last update was 2.5 years ago. Why not just use Orbot?
Anyway, it’s hard to get exact numbers but probably about 20% of websites use Cloudflare. If that privacy browser you refer to is Firefox, then you can’t read their blog, because Cloudflare.
Tl:dr 🌍👨🚀🔫👩🚀 you mean it’s all Cloudflare? Always has been.
It’s way more than 20%. Good luck avoiding them. You may as well drive a car without ever using a road.
Those are a lot of steps to come to the same conclusion as a whois search. But, yes, they’re on cloudflare, likely to help avoid another ddos takedown.
That it I’m deleting my browser.
Others have said you can’t avoid it, but if you really want to you can. You can sign up with an instance that doesn’t use Cloudflare, and if it also federates with lemmy.world you can still access all the same content.
The fediverse has lots of benefits 🙂
