At least then it made some sense to people because they were paying one bill for a large amount of content. Split it all apart and it changes to wondering why you’re paying for all this stuff, and for some it ends up being more expensive than before. Neither was good, both are overpriced, but every company becoming their own streaming platform was pretty stupid because they forced customers to make new decisions. My decision was to cancel everything.
edit: I’ll amend this to “becoming their own streaming platform and continuing to raise their prices with no real benefit to the customer.” When they first started, prices were reasonable in total, now it’s ridiculous.
Not just prices, but also convenience, adding up to a good value. I could subscribe to Netflix for a reasonable price and get most movies and shows without ads. That’s a good value
I’m not going to subscribe to many, nor am I going back to ads. If you don’t want my money, you won’t get it.
Of course the loophole is no contracts: this is how you get me to subscribe short term, then move on
I mean, if you bundle them you just end up with “new cable”, so not great there either.
