These videos were from 4 hours ago and there’s still torrential rain now.

edit: in case anyone is wondering, no, I am not mattweiss

edit: so this is how it’s been going… it rained most of last night, started the morning with flood warnings until 8:30am, then was revised to 11:30am, then again until 7:15pm. It is currently 7:22p, and no end in sight yet.

Part of the problem is a phenomenon called “training”, where instead of storms just passing through, they’ll get stuck on the mountain and will pass over the same areas multiple times like a train on tracks. You just have to hope something eventually changes to blow itself off and away from the track.

The wind has been going hard, rain has been coming down almost sideways for a good portion of today. I haven’t seen reports yet, but if it keeps up like this we’ll probably have more road closures upcountry from uprooted trees and maybe mud slides overnight.

edit: almost on cue, the water just turned on high again

Yeah it was like someone left the hose on here. Heavy rain. Broke part of the concrete for my wooden gate (which like a dummy, I left closed when I should have opened it Facepalm )

My weather station hit 3 inches per hour when it was raging.

Open hose sounds about right. I don’t know if we’ve hit 3” per hour yet or not, I think it was at 2” or a little over a couple of times. It sounds like it’s slowing down now but it’s been doing that all day. You think it’s about done and then it comes around for another pass.
