  • Yup. Stuck to my guns for over a year, and Lemmy didnt grow like I thought it would. Started using Reddit more regularly again in September.

Now, I do still only use it in the browser, no app, so my usage of Lemmy still far surpasses Reddit.

But there are some communities that either never made the migration or faced active hostility, so, gotta go to Reddit to be a part of them 🤷‍♀️.

  • Late to the game but it was DnD night for me! Nearly lost a party member but our cleric pulled a revivify! (Honestly with the diamond requirement, we pulled some shenanigans to get it to work but the DM was chill about it). But @ 2300 hrs, the fucking bad guy came back with a second health bar and like all of us are tapped for spells and potions, so we’ll see next session who actually makes it out! Got my second character set up already!

  • He wants to send his daughters to school in a place where they’re not only being valued for their wombs. Where they’re looked at as being equal contributors to their field of study. Where they’re provided opportunities the same as every other scholar there, and not assumed to be in college to find a husband.

And, yes, there is a bit of “if they get into trouble will they have options?” At play I’m sure as well.

    Quit being obtuse.

  • Wuthering Waves is Hella good. Technically it’s an open world gacha game, but I played through all the storyline (the developers will be forever updating the story a la Genshin Impact), and I never spent a dime on it.

Also, I have spent money on Cooking Diary. However, I went about 3 months of daily play before I did, and it was more about me being impatient/telling myself “You got 3 months of daily play, you can drop the devs $4.99”. I’ve played that game just about daily since Memorial Day 2023, and I’ve dropped $5.00 quarterly. There are regularly moments of infinite lives that exceed an hour or two, that it genuinely isn’t necessary. I spend the money more as a “thanks for not making this ducking game contingent on microtransactions, making it good, and maintaining/update it.”

  • I’m white af, but, as an American, I didn’t get treated as rudely anywhere else in Germany than Berlin. Still had a great time overall in the city, but, not really in a rush to go back.

My friend and I were standing at a bar mulling over the menu, just kind of murming to one another over what drinks we wanted while we were waiting for the bartender to finish up with his other customers. It wasn’t busy, but he was attending to other people. When he was finally done, he approached us and I said “Hi how are you?” with a smile. He didn’t say a single word to us, just took the menus from in front of us and put them on the back shelf, and then turned away.

So we left. Our money clearly wasn’t good enough there, and we spent it in another bar across the alleyway instead.

  • I go through phases of this with my husband. We’ve been married for 13 years, and he is legit my best friend, and I find him to be just unbelievably hot af. I’ll go weeks where I’m just like “goddamn, this is mine?”

And then I also go through less intense periods. He’s still my partner through life and I’d get his back through anything and everything, but it’s less “omg you’re so hot” googly eyes and more like “this is the life we’ve built together and I’m so glad I did it with you”.

But then a few weeks later I’m in crush mode.

Obligatory of course we have our periods where we annoy the fuck out of each other, but it’s usually short-lived and we communicate and work through it. I think that’s just a realistic fact of marriage.

He has made me such a better person than I was when I met him though. I think about that constantly.
