I think part of it was he had a really tough time dealing with California covid regulations for his business. It wasn’t something he could buy his way out of or pad someone’s pocket to make go away and they were very serious about it. In the same vein, that’s around the time his daughter came out as trans and you can see how that ended with her changing her name and completely disassociating herself from him. Combine that all with a slow (arguable) but consistent decline in the public’s admiration and opinion of him (which he craves desperately) and he began to crack.

Them and stamets. They both basically got me and my wife watching TNG for the first time with all the memes (only seen voyager before that) and we are loving every minute of it

We gave some friends Italian herb mixes from our garden. Oregano, rosemary, and thyme. If you have never had the actual seasonings from a garden instead of store bought, you have no idea what you are missing and what the herbs actually taste like.

Check out “Dave the diver”. I’ve fallen out of love with gaming as well and I’ve been dropping a lot of hours into this game on my steam deck. Super unique and easy to pick up and put down. Feels fresh.

And if my other comment isn’t what you are looking for and you want a dedicated machine, like others have said a used laptop is great. Thinkpads seem to be good and work well with linux if you want to go that route for hosting. Maybe check out some local school/university/office surplus sales since they can have some insane deals on machines that would be great for your use case

Honestly, unless you have an extra pc sitting around that you aren’t using (doesn’t need to be great stats, 4gb quad core is fine), I would probably just check out some dedicated Minecraft hosting options. $7-15 a month gets you a dedicated IP, always on server that is good enough for like 6-8 people. See if you can find a cyber Monday deal and you could possibly get started for super cheap or even free. Hostavoc and apex are a couple that come to mind
