To the surprise of absolutely no one. Tech companies are going to force this shit down our throats whether we want it or not, and Trump is going to pave the way for it.

AI is the new “smart connected” that they are going to shoehorn into anything and everything. No one is asking for AI on Notepad.

Support from local and state governments does make a difference though. While federal agencies can still enforce these laws, local/state agencies could look the other way. Cannabis is still federally illegal, but some states have basically said “no thanks, we’re good as long as you stick to our rules on it.”

It comes down to how much state governments want to go to bat for their constituencies and how much the federal government wants to press the issue. All else being equal, I’d rather be in a state that stands up for my rights than one that doesn’t.

Why? They rolled Iran’s proxies, and (if western media is to be believed) Iran itself has been shown to be a paper tiger. Their big ballistic missile attack was neutered, and the big air strike on their soil was reported to be very devastating to air defenses and missile construction.

So we have a situation of Schrodinger’s Iran. They are simultaneously super dangerous, and to quote Kamala Harris “Iran is greatest U.S. adversary.” Or they are no match for Israel’s superior technology and intelligence agencies.

The “3 dots” menu is sometimes referred to as a “kebab menu” if the dots are vertical and a “meatballs menu” if the dots are horizontal. I think it’s weird, but I have heard it used in instructional videos before.

Maybe they could make .io into a 3-character gTLD by adding a character to it. Moving all of the websites (except those actually relevant to the territory) over to a new gTLD in unison seems like it would reduce confusion for the people who use those sites. Knowing that acme.io is now acme.iox (or w/e) would make it easier on everyone.

If you don’t understand the purpose that it would serve and how it would help, I have no idea how could explain it to you. The benefit is self-evident.

I think that’s where the divide is, and why my employer pays for everyone to have Microsoft Office but I use a free office suite. I simply don’t need the extra capabilities for my own personal use.

Microsoft expects me to pay for Office 365? No, fuck you, I’ve got LibreOffice and your older Office software still works as good. Your word processing program, Word, hasn’t really changed that much since 2007 or even 2003. Hell, maybe not since 1997!

Yeah, it’s a word processor. I don’t need a newer with more features that I will never use. Some of these might make sense for a business with collaborative projects and such, but your average home user doesn’t need it.

Some of them can also seem very gimmicky. “.biz” is particularly bad, as I think of it more alluding to showbiz instead of business. They should have made it “.bus” instead, it would have at least appeared more professional.
