  • I can say that for myself it’s not really just the price. I don’t have space to put a computer. With a console I can hook it to the TV and tuck it up under it. When I wanna play I can grab just the controller and sit on the couch. I like simplicity. With a pc I need a mouse, keyboard, desk, a chair, speakers, and a monitor. I know it can be hooked up to a tv however the tower still stands as an issue. The smaller compact towers that can be tucked have limited capabilities that rest below consoles.

On top of all that PCs are regularly getting releases years after a games release. PC gaming is only superior if the things going to be entirely utilized by the person and for some reason a lot of PC gamers think the average person will be doing so when that’s simply not the case.

  • Ever since smartphones exploded the expectation to respond IMMEDIATELY is out of control. Anyone who gets my number I warn them they’ll be left on read for days if not weeks at a time. If it’s important I’ll respond but otherwise it’s whenever I get time to decompress and respond. I’ve got a buddy who I love we respond to each other every other week mostly. We will even have calls in between. People really get entitled to others time and it’s insane.

I know someone’s gonna say it but no the entitlement wasn’t even remotely as bad with the older phones. Smartphones began putting pressure to respond because it was easier and then they introduced the “seen” option followed by the “typing” option.

  • I’m curious what this means. Personally I don’t give a damn who uses what do what’s good for you, but android is heavily customizable with different operating systems and apps for more minor tweaks. On top of all that switching from android to iPhone is IMMENSELY easier than iPhone to android.

If you’re referencing the Google apps that people get to involved with there’s many options to get away from them nowadays. There’s whole communities here on lemmy assisting with that for those in to deep or even those just joining the android community so they don’t get pulled in.

  • This is of course only my opinion but I want it much bigger but maybe not the size of reddit. I like being able to have a problem and going into the specialized community to ask the pros. Online searching is currently slowing down results. AI searches will tell someone to use an outlet to fix a pipe and if someone searching for something they don’t know may try figuring out why their pipe doesn’t even have a plug. I also like to research into things HEAVILY and having a community where I can sift through thousands of posts to form an idea of what I’m looking to learn is nice.

With that said I can’t knock lemmy any because the community that has 150 people will have 125 of them respond to anything you post.
