Just eat them.
There is no trick that will make you think an apple is actually pie or make kale taste just like potato chips.
Try new stuff. Go to the Asian grocery store and buy random fruits and veggies you haven’t seen before and try them. Worst case you hate them, but you seem to be there already, best case you love them.
You do know that Excel is used in every job right?
I think strawberry pop tarts have less frosting than all other flavors.
It’s petty and small, but every time I have a strawberry pop tart the frosting is so thin that the holes on the top are clear through the frosting. No other flavor has this problem. I don’t think it matters, but it feels like a conspiracy.
There are several jobs that are frequently mentioned in discussions like this that are actually thanked all of them time.
Nurses, teachers, fire, EMTs and police are always mentioned. They are hard jobs and mostly under paid. However they are constantly thanked, businesses give discounts and commercials and politicians thank them endlessly.
Grocery store workers, butchers, plumbers, electricians, custodians, truck drivers and most “menial jobs” are completely thankless. Think of the last time you saw a 10% off for nurses and if you’ve ever seen 10% off for overnight stockers.
I’m not sure I understand, the whole point is to talk to people very far away.
What profession is willing to pay for social media recruitment?
What prejudice do you want to have confirmed?
What product do you wish to advertise?
What media product do you wish to advertise?
Can you believe this obvious lie?
I’m confident that on my deathbed my biggest regret will be being bored while stuck in an airport for a day.
People under the age of 25 tend to be really bad at the Internet. The number of times high schoolers or college kids are mystified by how I’m able to get information quickly from search engines is beyond me.
I’m not surprised they can’t tell what’s real, they can’t search for tiny details like “transmission time to Mars” or “gravity on mercury”.
There is value in trying things outside your comfort zone. It’s the only way to grow, or find new things you like.
Taking suggestions for new media isn’t a sign of youth. Imagine having a friend recommend a book and saying “I’m no callow youth! I’ll select my own media thank you!”
I’m not young and I still will play a game because it’s suggested to me. If everyone tells me a particular game/movie/book/restaurant is amazing, I’m going to try it.
Taking the advice of others and trying new things isn’t a sign of inexperience.
I don’t care what rights they want to curtail, if they say they’ll lower my taxes by a nickel I’ll vote for them!
Brave is chromium.
Make sure the pan is hot and there is fat in the pan and don’t move the toast until a crust has formed.
Stuff sticks more in a cold pan. As the pan heats the metal expands, any tiny pits in the pan get filled in with slightly expanded metal, any remaining spots are filled in with oil/butter. If you let the food sit longer it’ll release easier. Honestly, if you are sticking try waiting 30s, normally that will help.
Because it is.
Left click on zombie has better graphics, and that’s it.
For me Dwarf fortress is like watching TV, nethack is like reading a book.
I feel like I’ll watching some bizarre sitcom with such great stories as “dwarven child sees an elephant trample a goblin and then gets possessed, keeps making bone carvings of the scene, and then gathers all the elephant meat in a forge and kills three grown men by slapping them with meat.” I’m not anyone in that story, but it’s fun to watch.
Nethack is like getting to know the quirks of your character as they narrowly escape death.
Fuck Microsoft, switch to Linux
Absolutely. But I wouldn’t hold my breath on companies actually stopping use of MS.
Didn’t Microsoft lose a large anti trust court case about this shit for internet explorer?
Yes and no.
MS made Internet explorer uninstallable and made it even if you could install Netscape you couldn’t set it as the default app. Forcing teams to open internet explorer edge is more in line with iPhones and Android. Both phone OSs will let you install different browsers, but opening links from most 1st party apps opens safari or chrome with no real way to change it. It’s one of the worst things about phones and now MS is trying to move Windows that direction.
It’s going to get worse. Once corporations start to adopt edge MS will move to make browser office the only office. Clicking a .doc in edge will redirect to browser word 365. Saving already defaults to the cloud, soon we’ll have “virtual downloads” that save your download to your cloud and you can only meaningfully interact with it via edge.
We need more legislation and regulations allowing software choice for all platforms. We’ve never been allowed to own software, now we can’t even buy a perpetual license. Soon we won’t be allowed to have a copy of software saved on our devices, and files made by that software won’t be allowed on our computers either.
Because it’s what they will buy, it’s what I’ll buy. And it suits their argument. Calling people out for not reading the article when they are quoting a price from the article is silly though.
That being said, I don’t really buy the comparison between the optiflex and the pi. It’s like saying you can buy a perfectly good Geo metro as opposed to building a kit bike.
