Same, switched to Mint years ago and never looked back. Ubuntu is only a bit less annoying than windows these days.
I’ve also played Spec Ops this year, after having it in the library for god knows how long. I was pretty surprised, it’s pretty damn good.

Did it more than once and it wasn’t bad at all. Get some food you like, some nice movies/games, a stroll around the city to see people going crazy at midnight maybe, maybe a drink at the bar and then to sleep as soon as you’re tired without having to stay awake to make other people happy… I enjoyed it when it happened…
Never said anyone is “obliged”. Content will go away anyway eventually, or more often I will go away before the end.
To say it all: usually I find content interesting as long as the creator is doing it out of passion. There is a very clear difference the moment he/she realizes it is possible to get money out of it: and that’s when I usually find another creator.
They are free to feel entitled. Good for them.
Internet is not free, and there was plenty of cool stuff online well before everyone decided to make money out of every single thing. So no, bad argument.
Edit: Let me correct myself: there was much more cool stuff before.
