Edit: DISCLAIMER: I do not believe China is the most ethical place in the world. I do believe America is not investing enough in it’s infastructure and people.
With the coming govt. actions starting to more directly and visibly affect people’s lives, it will probably wake up (lol) at least a few people. Assuming they are all evil will harm us more than help us. At the end of the day, we are all human. We need all the help we can get and if they are offering, it would be rude to dismiss them.
Unless they come out the gate swinging, please be careful. I don’t know about you, but I want to get as many people as possible on board with combating the far right.
Attacking somebody who is legitimately trying to learn will only entrench them deeper in their prior beliefs. It might take a few sentences to find out if they are being genuine, but if you can change their perspective, it is worth it.
PSA: IF THE TROLLS DO MIGRATE HERE, DO NOT FEED THEM. BLOCK AND REPORT IF THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN HAVING A PRODUCTIVE, CIVIL CONVERSATION.
That is where the effort comes in.
I can almost guarantee you can find a 18 or 21+ server for your interests. If not, I am sure there are servers dedicated to a similar age range that have channels you can chat in.
There are many people who have developed long term long distance relationships online. Keep in mind that building relationships takes time and effort. Anybody who is active on a server can be a long term friend.
Instant friendships are very hard to find. If you are lucky, you might stumble on one, but I would recommend not expecting that to be the norm.
I have found people with similar interests on Discord. Say what you will about the platform, it is good for finding communities.
The smaller the better.
Joining a large server might make you feel lost in the sea of voices or end up with a ton of spam. You might need to swap between a few to find a community that actually fits you. But it is worth it.
Honestly, my experience having discourse here has been so much better than reddit.
15·5 months agoI would imagine this is them putting political pressure on Trump to uphold his campaign promise. The uniformed will open the app, see that message, and know where to direct their attention.
6·5 months agoEspecially if Silksong comes out this year. I could see a board memeber pointing at it saying, “IF THAT FLAT GAME CAN MAKE A MORBILLION DOLLARS, WE CAN MAKE ONE SO FAST AND GET SO MUCH MONEY!”

The only problem with that is it would perform logical actions that do not generate immediate short term profits. It might end up implementing 4 day work weeks and remote work, which are proven to increase productivity.
“Too big to fail” = “We cannot give real concequences for bad actions, but we can take a cut after the fact in the form of a weak ass fee.”
Steam needs to drop a whole OS for PC.
