You’re going to have a difficult time cutting through others’ cognitive dissonance. Humor, distancing, false-equivalence, and sarcasm… Are all refuge from the discomfort of being indifferent at best, or outright complicit. If people could start accepting it’s just sad.

That list is old school solid. I played every one of those except M64 and Counterstrike. Add a few like Adventure, Rogue, Civ 1&2, Populous, Wing Commander, Star Control 2, King’s Quest, Sim City, Katamari Damacy, and Deus Ex. Every one of those titles changed gaming in new ways.

The reason MLK said that the white moderate is the biggest threat to blacks is the white moderate is because consent of the masses allows things like lynchings. Today, such consent building allows hate groups to target minorities with little or no opposition, or even using tax dollars to “help Israel defend its sovereignty,” while actually committing genocide for Raytheon and Lockheed Martin profits.

I think you already know the reason is money. Exploiting others isn’t demonized, it’s celebrated as “innovative” and “clever” and “entrepreneurial spirit.” That is the system, held up, and propagandized by, the exploiters. We’re taught that violent protest is “uncivil” or “barbaric,” because it’s the only thing that truly threatens the system, which otherwise holds a monopoly on violence, to prop up that system.

You can’t treat social problems with a chemical.

Because people are detached from ethics and humanity as an intended function of capitalism. If people regarded animal welfare every time they needed to eat by being exposed to the slaughter, line might go down. Media is sanitized whatever degree maximizes potential consumer bases, and ultimately profits.

It’s a legal system.

The ability to be disconnected from the internet and still function properly.
