What technical limitations do you see? I feel like other than multireddits this place is basically equal to reddit.

There’s porn on here. Lemmynsfw.com is actually the second most populous instance irrc (or top 3?). Just got to convince people to post to it. But then we got the same problem of trying to convince people to do that lol.

I think it would just be cool to have regional specific communities and a shared culture. For example, one thing about Reddit was that there was subreddits for some local neighborhoods and such. I was able to help a couple move in return for a bunch stuff for my new apartment through that, and get advice on where I was moving to, etc. Just cool local things like that would be nice to have on here, but it would probably require a bigger population.

I wouldn’t mind the some more regional US instances, like midwest.social,.but for socal or norcal or the west coast in general, northeast, south, etc.

That might be why the candidates are running, but it’s not why people are voting for them. You haven’t seemed to have applied any empathy or gone into the mind of a third party voter at all, especially in this election, which is a different situation because of the ongoing genocide.

The point is to scare one of the main candidates to not support a genocide, so doing it silently would be against that. Tbh, it’s also the same reason I think a lot of them are bluffing and will end up voting for one of the main two instead.

Yes, but slowly. Every time I go to the Reddit front page and just see astroturfing and vapid pop culture stuff, then go to the comments and see 75% repetitive bot comments, I realize how much that place sucks now. I want more niche discussion spaces, but I don’t want reddit again anytime soon.

I go to Reddit for two niche subreddits and I look forward to the day I can abandon it for good for Lemmy. The front page doesn’t even entertain me anymore, every discussion there is so boring.

I started Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. I’ve been loving it, it’s like they made the game for me. It’s a perfect unwind game at the end of a day of work between the calming music, character conversations, and silly or cute mini games; but there’s also enough strategy and action in battles to keep my mind stimulated when I want more than that.

I’m down lol. Unfortunately friends still use it. I just found out about a friend’s birthday this weekend because I don’t use Facebook events. Why don’t people just text anymore? 😩

This is as big a problem as the Tik Tok thing. We have blatant evidence of a foreign country interfering with our biggest social media platform. It needs to be banned, too, or she needs to be fired.
