Basically one big medeival role play Minecraft server. It’s a bunch of fun though, if you can find the time to literally build a village from the ground up in your free time.
Outsourcing is extracting wealth from another nation. How can you possibly compare that to lifting ones own citizens out of poverty?

Absolutely bursting with fun historical knowledge to give context to not only its world but ours. I will admit it’s a bit janky at times, and mention that the sequel is coming out in the first quarter of this year I believe.

It’s yet another potential point of failure that stops ALL work dead in its tracks if it happens.

I didn’t mean to imply the app sends your data to third parties, only that the company who owns it profits off of third party information brokering. Where that information comes from is beside the point in my opinion.
b000rg@midwest.socialto Android@lemmy.world•End of an era: Nova Launcher's parent company lays off practically everyoneEnglish1053·11 months agoPSA: Nova Launcher’s owning company sells their user data. It was a good launcher when it first came out, but it’s been nothing but a downward spiral from there.
Edit for clarity: I don’t mean the app itself. It is owned by an entity that exists to sell consumer data.

They’re saying that there was a manufacturing issue causing oxidation, by that’s not why their CPUs were failing. That was caused by a voltage issue that can be patched, but the bricked CPUs will be refunded/replaced. Like, why admit to two separate issues being present in your product, as a manufacturer, unless it’s to mitigate the blowback from one issue in the first place. I don’t buy it.

If your CPU goes out, the easiest, cheapest solution is always a drop-in replacement. Not like you can easily switch to a different brand. Just par for the course for the race to the bottom.
For whole blood, I’ve only ever been given a t-shirt. For plasma alone though, it was purely dependent on your weight and, therefore, how much they can take from you in the one session. I’m a tiny dude who barely weighed enough to qualify and got about $80 a couple years ago. It’s honestly not worth it at all, but if you’re broke it’s easier than many other options. The place was full of the “undesirables” of society because of that. It drained me emotionally, seeing how blatantly exploitative it is.
Edit to add: these plasma donations can be done with a tighter window between them too, so the people who were always short on cash were in there every 2 weeks.
Edit again: I forgot that that was an introductory deal where they give you an extra $40, so it was actually $40 for me. Overweight patients could get around $70-$80.
