Referrals are electronic for those running a modern EMR, like Epic. The systems exist, it’s up to both sides to implement them.

How so?
I use Firefox most of the time, but if I really need to stretch the battery life I’ll use Safari. It seems significantly faster and more power efficient than anything else I’ve used. If it had better plugin support, it’d be my daily driver. Can’t say I’ve ever had issues with it rendering a page.
Where’s anyone saying it’s worthless? That’s not in the article nor in these comments.
The issue is how it’s being used. It’s not being used to detect cancer. It’s being used for “efficiency”, which means more patients being seen by fewer nurses. It’s furthering the goals of the business majors in hospital administration, not the nurses or doctors who are caring for the patient.
I’m pretty sure a single atom could completely convert to energy, as in perfect E=mc^2 with no losses, and you still wouldn’t notice.
This study says that standing for more than two hours increases risk of certain things like blood clots. It also says sitting for a whole shift is bad, and you should be moving every 30 minutes. This does not mean standing desks are useless; I’m not standing for my circulatory system, I’m standing for my back. I also don’t stand for an entire shift, that’s what’s great about the memory settings. I’ll switch back and forth depending on what I feel like doing. Sometimes I’ll have it on “sit” all day, other times I’m switching back and forth quite a bit. I don’t think they’re useless, nor do I think it’s some health miracle, but it does give me more flexibility and I don’t think I’d go without after having used one.
Time spent standing was not associated with CVD risk but was associated with higher orthostatic circulatory disease risk. Time spent sitting above 10 h/day was associated with both higher orthostatic circulatory disease and major CVD risk. The deleterious associations of overall stationary time were primarily driven by sitting. Collectively, our findings indicate increasing standing time as a prescription may not lower major CVD risk and may lead to higher orthostatic circulatory disease risk.
I thought that was exploiting credit card/savings account rewards by bouncing from card to card, as in /r/churning.
How about the dryer door, does it open to the middle of the two or to the side?
How do the doors open? Every front load set I’ve seen comes from the factory with the doors set up to open to opposite sides, making washer left and dryer right by design. You can usually flip the dryer door for stacking but if you had them reversed they’d be right in the way, dividing both sides.
It doesn’t have any more potential side effects than any other vaccine. It’s not special in this regard.
Personally I eschewed a machine for a set of good adjustable dumbbells and a bench and I don’t regret it at all. I don’t like machines because they allow you to cheat with bad form and that leads to joint injuries. I found that I can use significantly less weight with free weights as compared to a machine, and while that’s not as good for the ego, it’s better for my joints. Lifting weights has turned into a more yoga like mindful execution of movement rather than a grunty maximum exertion of force since I switched, and I really like it. It’s challenging to do legs, but I’ve got a bad knee and I can still do enough with my two 5-80 dumbbells to feel it the next day.
Heat is the killer for car batteries too; much to my surprise, I had to buy far more in south Texas than upstate New York. Cold makes batteries less capable, but heat accelerates degradation dramatically.
I’ve reconstituted a ton of lyophilized vials of controls for medical lab analyzers. Interesting to hear about how they’re made, thanks for sharing.
I’m pretty sure the only actual use cases are berries and fruits.
Also great for making great hash out of weed
Mine has been relegated to BIOS updates, still doing a great job just a bit small these days.
Last time Apple tried to do modems they were clearly inferior to Qualcomm. I hope it goes better with these WiFi chips.

I’ve seen semi-trucks disintegrate after hitting a dear.
I’d like to see that, I’ve seen modern regular full size trucks annihilate a deer without disintegrating. Semis wouldn’t be bothered much unless you’re talking about something larger like a moose. Deer are about the same weight as humans, whatever is good at killing humans is usually good for deer.
The average weight of an adult male is 203 lb (maximum, 405 lb). The average weight of a female is about 155 lb (maximum, 218 lb).
Why would the TSA have anything to do with Delta’s IT operations?
In March 2023, the TSA added a cybersecurity emergency amendment to its cybersecurity programs. The amendment required airlines like Delta to develop “policies and controls to ensure that operational technology systems can continue to safely operate in the event that an information technology system has been compromised,” CrowdStrike’s complaint said.
Guess that’s why.
Proper spatial audio, ie not the DSP effect that upconverts stereo, but something like Atmos or DTS:X that’s sending object based audio to an arbitrary number of speakers, does sound better to me on headphones in the few games that support it. The only game where use it regularly that I can think of is MSFS, but it does sound better than headphone stereo. You do have to pay Dolby to use it, or buy headphones that come with it, however. Sounds best on my 5.1 home theater, but also does a good job with binaural headphone output.
I rode back from a Phish show in Albany, NY when there were big fat flakes coming down at night on I-90. It was my first show and also first mushroom chocolate. It was like going warp speed the entire way home, long white snowflake tracers across a black background. Very fun to watch, although the trip home took a lot longer because we could only do 45 rather than 65.
