I’ve only been on lemmy for like a week, so I have no point of comparison here. It doesn’t feel janky to me, but then I’m not a power user. It works well for what I like to do, which is view posts and comment. Images display well, I haven’t noticed any problems with video. I haven’t tried embedding images in comments yet, let’s try it with a photograph of the richest man in Indiana:
Give Thunder a second shot, or don’t. I’m not your boss, I’m just some drunk guy on the Internet.
Have you tried Thunder? I’ve been using it since I finally got around to moving over here (admittedly not very long) and I’ve found that Thunder gets a lot right. It’s open source, ad-free, cross-platform, and nice to use. It doesn’t have quite as much polish as Relay but the design language is similar enough that it doesn’t feel like a huge departure.
Voting is the least we can do besides doing nothing. Which makes it pretty disappointing that so many people will be all like “oh voting doesn’t do anything, we should tear down the government instead” and then they proceed to do neither of those things.
It didn’t ship with my controller, I had to order it extra. I looked it up and apparently they started shipping the backplate standard with the second run of controllers. Hopefully the new controller also uses a dongle, because good god do I hate Bluetooth. Being able to plug the damn thing in and have it work on any machine instead of faffing about with BT unpairing and repairing like I do with my Xbox controller is so nice.
I’m sure they’ll make a steam controller: episode 1.
I really regretted only buying one the first time around. At least I got the backplate with the dongle storage.
The best search engine for my money is kagi. It’s $5 a month but there’s no ads, I get to block pinterest and I downranked fandom wikis. There’s even a fediverse filter.
