I noticed this too. It usually occured when trying to find something that would have lesser number of results. Switched to metager.
The results in the first few pages are fine though, maybe thats why some people itt havent noticed it yet.
Should be able to install it via Obtanium using https://gitlab.com/ironfox-oss/IronFox
There also seems to be a f-droid repo.
