Too little, too late. I only know 2 creators that I supported who stayed through all this. Most quit patreon when it was announced… this is hardly the worst of the fees they charge people.
Just a person who likes media that you actually can hold in your hands and computers that only do what you tell them to.

I find it interesting that simply having been involved in litigation (I got sued once for an art piece) seems to be enough that I go home every time I’m called for jury duty. They really do want people with no idea.
I liked the drill attachment ones, I might get one next time. Thanks for checking them out, and the feedback :)
Oh for sure, I am doing them just for the fun of putting more out there. I’m a fan of the genre, I find repairing things to be very punk. Makes me happy to see something broken/useless/damaged/worn become useful and productive again.
Such an awesome editor, I use it regularly to make little repair videos.
Ofc not, I’m asking why they didn’t just release a collection like Sega did, or like Nintendo has done in the past.
Releasing a “classics” collection in the first few months of the switch would have been such an easy move.
Though, contextually (and more importantly), pointing out that the switch 2 doesn’t just have to compete against a similar device with a mammoth array of games… but one with all of nintendo’s games, too.
It varies from game to game, as you’d expect. I can play pokemon multi-player without requiring a link cable, for example, but I can’t speak to other games I haven’t played much (like smash brothers or mariokart). If you mean games in general on the steamdeck, I find gog games and randos like Doom and Diablo multiplayer works just fine.
But it’s impossible for a human on the internet to like more than 1 thing at a time!
You very politely missed the #1 point… I can already play every single nintendo game I’ve ever bought on my steamdeck. Right now. With no subscription, just simply uploading from my GBA/DS/3DS/Switch to my Steamdeck… Nintendo for reasons completely lost to me refuses to allow that. Like, wth are they even doing over there to not have solved that issue day 1 on the switch.
It does what now? Why would it do that?
What “kickstart”? The fediverse isn’t a commercial venture. If we can connect with our friends and interests, it’s already “working”. I find fantastic new people here all the time, doing really niche stuff I’d never find on a platform focused on appealing to everyone.
If “99%” of people aren’t on it, that’s perfectly acceptable, and just makes it easier for the ones on it to find and talk to their friends. I don’t think we need or want the vast torrent of spammers, downvote bots, and “influencer” types who use whatever gives them clicks.
I was told something like this about an article I was pointing out wasn’t on page 1 of google, but was on virtually all other engines. “Unless it’s page 1 of google nobody cares”
And all I can say is “who cares? those aren’t the people it’s for”
I’m a huge fan of RSS, it’s how I get 90% of my media now.
Fingers crossed, right?
That’s a good suggestion, and I will look
I feel that. I’m currently using a laptop from like 2017 (with a 1050) and honestly… if it dies, I’m pretty well hosed.
See, that’s real prep, not buying 2,000 cans of beans and 20k in ammo :D
I can’t afford to get any real last-minute stuff, unfortunately. What I did do was stock up on rice and the spices that I largely use, and got some new shoes from walmart earlier than I normally would.
I put off the things I had been saving for (like a vero v), canceled everything but my basic phone service, and I’ll be seeing how much stuff I can get by with repairing/cobbling.
What’s sad is that the billionaires who control the only grocery options for 90 miles will be getting a LOT more of my income, and the small businesses (music stores, thrift stores, things like that) will be getting left. Thereby amplifying the wealth extraction already happening.
F this, and f everyone who voted for it.

Probably my faves. There’s a few others on pixelfed/mastodon that I follow as well, but more special interest
Oh look, the MS steamwreck.
