That’s how I used to play guitar, too. I got a cheapo sound pedal with a bunch of effects and premade back beats. Try to play some songs that I know. Sound bad. Keep doing it until I get bored or it sounds kinda cool once. That’s enough for the week.

Favorite is a tough one to pick. There are many games that have genuinely shaped my life, some that I still play consistently, others that hold a dear place in my heart but I’ll likely never pick back up for various reasons.

Games that I play all the time and get the most value out of are not necessarily my favorite games. I’ve been playing the crap out of satisfactory since it’s 1.0 release, and it’s definitely up there, but it doesn’t evoke the same feelings I had when I played Skyrim for the first time, nor do I think it will create formative memories like the Halo, Sly Cooper, or Ratchet and Clank series did for me.

Seems like people got your questions answered. Just wanna say that those machines (Prusas) are very nice, and not generally cheap, so even if it was a throwaway for someone make sure to get em a 12 pack or something! That’s an awesome gift!

I’m a big fan of Emily the Engineer. She’s a similar chaotic energy as early Michael Reeves but less directly focused on “offensive ideas” or “things to hurt your friends”. The creativity behind both the projects and the videos is top notch.

Someone else mentioned gridfinity, that was my first thought too. You can probably find modules for all of the things you listed already made and ready to print.

Once you start with gridfinity, though, you will never stop.

Re: dry. I’m convinced PLA doesn’t care about moisture. Watched a video of a guy that soaked a roll in a tub of water overnight, then printed off the roll with it still in the tub. Looked exactly the same as it did before the soak.

Mileage may vary of course but ever since then I’ve been leaving my PLA out and it’s never once given me trouble (the infused ones a little bit).

I remember your first post. Glad that you are still working on putting this workshop together. Excited to read about what you come up with.

If I remember correctly, you use a 3d scanner to get close-enough measurements of your workspace, and design around that? Is there any chance of us getting some pictures of your completed space once things are buttoned up, or would it be too much of a privacy concern? I’m super into confined, efficient workspaces and I’d love to see what kind of solutions you’ve come up with for your specific needs.

My imaginary friend was very tiny, and I’d imagine him cartoonishly jumping around whatever environment I was in so he could talk to me on my level. I used to hide out in the bathroom a lot, so oftentimes he’d be jumping on top of the toilet paper roll, then scampering up to the counter so we could have a proper conversation. If I was in the car, he’d sit on the edge of the window.

The best way I could describe him looking back would be like the vault boy from fallout. Not the same clothes or look, but just that cartoony style. I probably imagined him to be a little darker and with different colored hair.
