It runs fine on Linux.

It’s true that most people wouldn’t know, and probably wouldn’t look that far into things before buying a game. Fortunately Steam’s refund policy is pretty good for this kind of situation.

Either mine don’t have the coating, or I’m immune to it somehow.

That’s the key here. People who were willing to pre-pay for the game ahead of time are clearly not the target of the DRM, and yet they’re the ones choosing to cancel their purchase. It’s not pirates complaining because they want to play the game for free, it’s people who were looking forward to buying the game.

There was also a video a while back from one maker channel where the guy said that he got some type of nasty poisoning from breathing in fumes from ABS printing. Fortunately ABS isn’t as popular of a material as it once was, now that there are better alternatives, but I’m sure many of them still put out some nasty fumes.

That’s not a “new trend,” it’s been that way for a long time. Denuvo is a subscription model for publishers, and it doesn’t make sense to keep paying for it after the sales have already peaked.

It means thrift stores used to be a place to buy older, used clothes for cheap. But since thrifting has gotten very popular, thrift stores have gotten more and more expensive and are no longer a bargain destination.

I don’t know if installing Windows 10 and then upgrading can get around this though.

Home versions, which most home users have, force the use of MS accounts. They’ve patched the bypass tricks that people used before.

They’re suing because Microsoft got an exclusion from the Digital Markets Act. Google did not.

There’s no way they’re giving you an “upgrade” for free. Don’t worry, as long as you don’t pay for it, you’re not getting the new version.

It’s easier to accept this annoyance and move on. And then the next one. And the next. Why bother fighting anything at that point? It’s easier to let them step on us and be thankful they’ll take our money for it.

Rockstar has apparently bought FiveM.

Rockstar have already mentioned that they are working to get the game working on Steam Deck, and by extension Linux in general.

Shouldn’t be too hard since BattlEye is supposed to be compatible and there’s a BattlEye Proton runtime.

3D printers can move very fast. They typically don’t because it causes all kinds of deformations in the print. Mostly the issues are in acceleration, decelaration, cornering, and controlling the heat snd flow of melting filament.

I don’t know whether or not the accelerometer thing can be done in real time, or if there would be any benefit.

Check out the 2-minute Benchy for an example of how fast a 3D printer can get. This is a test print that typically should take about 45 minutes to an hour at very basic settings.

But also note the quality of the end product. It looks pretty awful. If we could print accurately at even remotely similar speeds, it would be fantastic.
