I feel that a lot of the hate for Apple is not fully warranted. Contrary to Google or Facebook, their business model is not built on collecting your personal data. They are extremely overpriced, but deliver good quality - I am using my first iPhone for more than 4 years now, I never had and Android last nearly that long.

I of course make grammar mistakes and typos when messaging/commenting from my phone, but I can’t imagine creating and posting something with a mistake like this.

10-15 years ago this would have been something to ridicule and downvote, and now most people don’t even seem to care anymore.

An interesting point, that a lot of younger people might not know: social media wasn’t always like this.

When I joined facebook around 2008-09, it wasn’t algorithm driven, there weren’t even ads. You had a chronological feed of your friends’ interactions, so you could see if someone posts a photo, comments something, or shares a stupid quiz. It was a very-very different feeling compared to what we have now. It was useful and practical, but the enshittification killed it.

I would never sign up for something like this today, absolutely useless - only reason I’m still there is the messaging app, which I use daily with most of my friends/family.

As someone living in the EU, I am shocked by these stories.

In my home country in the east you, you can basically cancel most things monthly, or just stop paying, and they’ll figure it out and kick you off the service after a few weeks.

In Germany it can be a bit more annoying, but cancellation is always legally well regulated.

I played BO Cold War a few years ago, and was very disappointed in both sounds and visuals. It just wasn’t a well-made game on the technical level. The fire in a Vietnam flashback location looked like something from the 90s, a 2D model that was rotating to where I was watching it from. A rip-off for a full priced AAA game.

True, but there are 2 sides to this: the majority won’t buy VR, unless there are enough games to play.

Studios should be actually investing and taking a risk, maybe it works out and becomes a big market, maybe not. If they keep going the current path, VR will forever remain an expensive niche gimmick. Which they seem to okay with.

Based on the article: the AAA thing was supposed to be something new/different, but they closed it before releasing anything. I also haven’t tried the mobile games, but they should be still available, that is done by a different team
