I used to game a lot on a desktop, but now that I work at home, I kinda hate sitting in front of a PC. I wasnt playing a lot, but then got a steam deck at launch, and now I’m gaming a ton again.
I like the switch, but I really like how backwards compatible PC gaming is.
Always worth mentioning the free version of davinci resolve. It’s feature complete for your described needs, doesn’t hassle with things like watermarks, and the tools are great if you ever need to step up to something a little more robust.
And for how expensive portable consoles can be, I’m not calling anything a “steam deck killer” until I’m also confident it can be repaired and upgraded for years after I buy it.

Goggins is what got me on board too.
I’m back to a full computer again too, and if you don’t have a laptop handy, the new little mini PCs are surprisingly affordable too. If you don’t want to build a raspberry pi.
What’s in it for valve? More games sold. They don’t seem to mind steam keys being sold on aggressive sales through other platforms. Partnering with another hardware manufacturer for a revenue share doesn’t seem like an extreme stretch. Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? No.
I had that issue with two services two, but I’ve taken to using different containers now.

A lot of folks are finding out that their bosses never REALLY cared that their job was done well, or even competently. If the company can save money with an AI that gets a bunch of stuff wrong, that’s “good enough”.

It’s like Google’s deal with Apple. Apple receives around $10 Billion a year to make Google the default search. I don’t believe Siri search can be changed, but if the user changes safari over to DDG, Apple already got paid. The amount Google pays out doesn’t depend on users KEEPING Google search. Just that it was the default.
