I’ve only started paying to support the dev but haven’t had ads on free version before. Adblock ftw

“Commies” is a good one too. A good cutesy way to shorten it.
Can’t produce issue
Device information
Sync version: v23.09.13-18:19
Sync flavor: googlePlay
View type: Slides
Push enabled: false
Device: bluejay
Model: Google Pixel 6a
Android: 14
Edit: Is it possible it is because the view type for the user with issue is list?
Edit 2: No crash after testing with view type list
Edit 3: The other difference is whether or not push is enabled or disabled. Not sure if that would cause it though.
Running a14 and no issue
There were a bunch of smaller social media platforms I’ve been on around 2016 that did the separation for age and it usually just ended up with 18- marking themselves as 18+ and vice versa. I can’t remember the name for it. I think one was called teen network or something. And the other one was a mobile app with a blue target logo.
Good idea on paper, an absolute disaster in practice. Seen it tried before and it was a mess
They all should have descriptions when you open them up. Generic notifications are for downloads.
Isn’t the icon also material you? So it changes colors based on theme?
Well for my phone I used RethinkDNS before I rooted it again. After rooting I use AdAway.
You can also use something like RethinkDNS for a customized DNS ad blocking. I use AdAway on my phone.
I’ve been using systemwide adblock on all my electronics for years now so I forget that in app ads are a thing. But yeah, I see your point. They do offer a one time purchase to remove ads.
I start instance surfing. I go into federated instance lists and just pick a random one to explore.
Create your own instance, defedrate, profit.
Noticed too. I swear there used to be one
Same here. I don’t switch accounts often though.

Here is what I gathered:
Switching to Linux mainly motivated by privacy, security, flexibility, and performance.
The writer also supports Linux as a community-driven alternative to large corporations.
The author views dual booting as beneficial for resale value, software gaps, and gaming compatibility.
The Linux installation used was Nobara, though it had its own challenges.
The writer’s extensive experience with Linux dates back to the late '90s.
The Linux community’s condescending and elitist attitudes are viewed as a drawback.
The writer chose Nobara Linux due to its functionality and fewer roadblocks compared to other distributions.
The performance and user experience of Nobara Linux is generally superior to Windows 11, though there are issues like Bluetooth lag and system freeze. Gaming on Steam is generally favorable, though there are minor issues with certain games.
KDE is praised for its functionality and features, especially KDE Connect for multimedia transfers. Minor issues with accessing certain file types and RGB lighting preferences are noted.
Eternity for Lemmy is a good alternative.
