Good analysis of what’s going on with plenty of graphics. Also might sound a bit familiar to Americans in terms of how the center is breaking down.

He worked with the nazi party in January?! smfh. I grew up in Bavaria and am surprised to see they’re not AfD. Maybe not. I guess I’m not surprised to see the part of .DE closer to Putin hell hole (also ex-communist) is the blue nazi.

Also… “Crime and immigration, street bullying, the soaring cost of housing and fears of military conscription if Germany goes to war are all issues driving younger Germans away from the centre.”

YEP! Better vote harder in your worst interest. Humans are a mess.

It boils down to gaslighting as the right further takes hold in erstwhile democracies. People’s lives have gotten fucked so hard by the 1% that they’re willing to believe poor immigrants are the problem.

Education and critical thinking are the only ways out of this mess, and we’ve been dismantling those for 40 years in the states.

To be fair, it’s mostly driven them to the left rather than the right (where the AfD vote is lower than most other age demographics). It’s still stupid that any are falling for it, however.
