Seeing Stephen Hawking on that list is wild
One of the news outlets mention this in particular. Apparently Epstein was trying to legitimize the people he had contact with. He saw inviting Hawking as a way to make his guest list less incriminating.

I think the just was to try to get more legitimate people invited to the party so every invite list wasn’t just sex trafficking hit list. They said that he covered this concept in some of his personal communications that were also released.

Nothing “allegedly” about it, they ARE linked. Whether or not they did anything wrong (and they almost certainly did), being mentioned in those court documents is literally a link to Epstein.

Don’t really know how you can take this in a good faith understanding. You’ve literally just said that any name appearing in the document almost certainly did the wrong thing. Just acknowledge that there is necessary nuance here - some people named in that document have done nothing wrong.

No, I was talking about the powerful men mentioned in the headline. Why would you think I’d widen it beyond that without saying so?

Allegedly is just a way to avoid getting sued. They know what they’re doing. Sure, if they’re on the list, that could be argued it’s not alleged that they’re tied together in some form, but at least this will keep anyone from attempted to sue them over it. And all they had to do was wiggle their fingers a few more times to add that extra word.

There are victims, witnesses, and innocent associates listed in the same document. The men powerful enough to force the removal of their names from the list have already done so. This document is not a list of just pedophiles, but only a list of people associated with him.

unfortunately a name on a list doesn’t prove much. Anyone can make a list of names, label it “evil people” and leave it for authorities to find. They can even put people they don’t like on it without them knowing…overall I’m sceptical of a “magic list of rich powerful criminals”.
For anyone who is found guilty, sure we can behead them…just don’t start with the one attached to the neck.
