A survey of more than 2.4 million people finds that being online can have a positive effect on welfare.
Like most tools, the internet magnifies and enhances a person’s craft, so to speak.
If I didn’t have the internet to talk to other like-minded people who share the same hobbies and passions as I do: I’d be so much lonlier and probably would have killed myself by now. So, I for one, am thankful for it.
Is food bad for you? Huge study reveals surprise effect that is misrepresented by this headline!
Turns out, food is fine.
Yeah, I know. I wasn’t really a fan of the headline, but I did like the “the study found a benefit” bit, and I’m not super-enthralled about editorializing headlines. /r/Europe used to seriously restrict modifying headlines, because people kept trying to shove their opinions into headlines, and I kind of agree with that as a policy standpoint.
I tried to choose a middle ground between leaving the title a clickbait mystery and modifying it to instead have my take on the article by quoting the text from the article that did show what the study found in the submission text.
I definitely wasn’t trying to criticize you, just the headline.
