I can understand what you’re saying with none of them needing sequels. Invaded that definition yeah sure none of them need them. But I would very much want a sequel to bastion and transistor. And if that puts me in the minority as far as that’s concerned I’m okay with that. I’m not going to boycott their team because they don’t make a sequel by any means.
They’re obviously a developer that I would be interested in anything new that they put out. But both bastion and transistor were two of my all-time favorites from the indie scene. And I would really and truly love to revisit both of those worlds in a sequel.

I mean it’s entirely possible to be put off by certain actors and actresses in movies. There are some people I know who cannot stand any movie that Keanu Reeves is in because they think he’s got no range and is basically like warm plain oatmeal when it comes to like his spice level. And while I disagree with those people that’s entirely their right to feel that sort of way about what they’re watching. Like for me I can’t stand to watch anything that’s got Kristen Stewart or Zendaya in it because they both know how to only act like a block of wood.
I don’t think there’s any real logic behind it other than the founders of our nation post the war of independence did not want to have any real similarities between America and Britain.
I have to say I don’t think you can save a movie with casting, but you can definitely ruin a movie with casting. The only example of casting improving a movie are the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and Johnny Depp. Without his take on Jack Sparrow I don’t think they would have been able to make a franchise of movies out of an aging theme park ride.
I think there are several logical reasons. First they may just like the small display of strength. Second, they could like the sound. Third, they could be compacting it to take less space in the trash/recycling.
There’s no logical reason to clock out early. It stops you from future happiness, prohibits any form of personal growth, and deprives those that appreciate you in their lives of you. It’s a permanent solution for temporary problems.
I’m glad to hear you’re utilizing therapy. It’s a good tool for self maintenance.
And I wouldn’t say you have a mental health issue. You have an emotional health issue. What happened to you sucks. I went through a few of your posts to make sure I wasn’t calling for someone just wanting to create engagement. The fact that it’s a small town and you see her everywhere you go also sucks.
I’d recommend maybe moving if it’s feasible. Definitely take a bit of a vacation. Maybe go camping. Check and see if there’s any retreats going on. Maybe you can get in on some form of group camp outing and make some new friends. Or at the very least meet new people who aren’t part of your day to day.
Unfortunately, your ex may just be better at playing the victim. And if you’re US based, our legal system leans heavily in support of the ex-wife. Especially in the south east.
I know it’s a cliche bit of advice at this point but you should seek therapy. I know that isn’t the same as support from family and friends but based on how you seem to feel triage is what you need to aim for.
There are support groups for divorced men. I highly recommend selling them out. And if you just need to vent you can DM me. I can’t promise to be constant, but I don’t mind chatting when I can.
Devs, yes. Publishers, not so much.
On the one hand I hate hearing about people losing their jobs. I dislike people not being able to have an opportunity to support themselves. On the other hand any and all trouble for EA makes me happy. I long for the day they have to sell off their studios and their CEO has to try and not be remembered as the guy that killed the golden goose for investor capitol.
It’s time that investors stop looking at video games as a get rich quick opportunity. And trying to turn it into the new cubicle farm. Sandfall and a lot of other smaller devs are proving that a small team of generalists are able to do better work than these huge and bloated monstrosities that EA and its kind have become.
Also they pretty much show with this and several other cancellations that they cannot fathom a business model that doesn’t rely on predator monetization.
I enjoyed that the game seemed to try and make it so that every play style felt equal. Stealth archer didn’t seem like “easy mode”. The visuals while not the peak of fidelity, were very interesting to look at. The world building drew me in quickly, and kept my attention. In the end it succeeded where a demo should, it made me want to get the game.
I played the demo a few weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
Just for a bit of clarification I’m not talking about forcing them to do anything This is simply from a consumer standpoint, my wish I guess.
