Yeah, I read up on it a bit after making this comment. Kinda crazy that they were able to get Unreal graphics to render as the so called “front-end”. Definitely can’t do that out of the box.

It really sucks. I legit feel like I might get kicked out of the space industry bcz of the dumbass administration. I will end up in the private sector making rockets for space tourism, which isn’t inspiring at all bcz, let’s face it. Going into space and being a billionaire isn’t all that special. But doing science for humankind, that’s something to aspire too, and they’re trying to take that away from us.

Now i want to try the game

I work on one of these telescopes. Got the news today thay they’re trying to close Goddard, and the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope, and basically all Earth observing satellite work. It would completely upend our ability to predict 7 day weather, extreme weather events like hurricanes, and make science basically inaccessible from space. I’m surprised they aren’t moving the funding over to SpaceX entirely.

Lobbying isn’t inherently bad. There are legitimate issues for lobbying, we just have decided corporations are people, and that take precedent over people’s lives now apparently.

I cant even get my wife to quit using Facebook. She knows why I don’t use it, and she just doesn’t give a crap about privacy. I have lost my temperature before about her constant use of technology that is essentially surveillance tools.

No idea, i guess it all depends on the faith of the company not removing community notes.

This might actually end up being a good thing. If users can fact-check stuff instead of relying kn Meta to do it for us. It seems bad, but there are a lot of people willing to correct their misinformation.

On the flipside, why are people still using facebook? It’s like 90% AI slop these days.

You like what you like. I prefer science fiction myself. I tried reading the first LOTR book and I couldn’t get through it bcz it had like 2 straight pages describing the scenery.
