It’s not just Indian. There’s an Ethiopian church down the street, every sunday our block is full of Teslas, two of them are cyber trucks. So weird.
showing an offensive attitude of superiority : proceeding from or characterized by arrogance (an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions)
I love jack in the box curly fries with their taco sauce.
1gbps symmetrical
I have 2 vcpu (host) for the pfsense vm, xeon e5-2667 3.2ghz, i see both cpu hit about 80% max during speed tests.
pfsense ce 2.7.2-RELEASE
my isp also does pppoe, i have a virtual pfsense, 1gbps up/down, it’s never been an issue for me. ive had this setup for maybe three years.
This could also be caused by a bad connection or poor contact between the wire and the receptacle. Notice the side is melted, where the terminal screws would be, thats where the heat would be generated. When you put a load on it and electrons have to jump the gap it arcs and generates heat. Load is also a factor, on this receptacle or any downstream, but the melting on the side might be caused by arcing.
IIRC immich is like a google photos replacement. I use nextcloud for that on android but it’s not so simple on ios. How’s immich for ios, do uploads work automatically in the background? How’s performance?
I deleted my account back in 2013. One thing I didn’t really think about was that someone else could spin up an account and pretend to be you after you leave. When I found out that someone did this I don’t think I did anything about it, I just looked at the account, cringed, and closed the window and never went back.
Automotibles are not car culture. If anything car culture turns a garage into a third place, by your definition, and brings other people out of their houses and out of the workplace, to meet. Car culture is more an adaptation people have made due to the advent of the automotible and the problems you attribute to “car culture”. Everything has expanded and is cut up by streets and shit because automotibles are useful… as a side effect has made it harder to have a third place, as you have pointed out, and so people who engage in car culture actually overcome the challenge by integrating automotibles into their culture, they persevere.
I would actually make the same argument for internet culture. The internet isn’t internet culture, and if anything internet culture has allowed people to express themselves through the internet, embracing it and integrating it into their lives rather than just living beside it. For people who consider themselves part of internet culture, the internet is their third place where they play.
With that said, it’s still an interesting idea. I do think we pay a high price for the luxuries that we have today and it’s not well understood. Having infrastructure designed around automotibles, for example, fucking sucks.
People sell whole collections or discographies on ebay too, I’ve had good luck with that. CD, then rip them. I don’t give a flying fuck what law says if I own the media I’m going to rip it.
For music that I really like, for artists that I really appreciate, I do look for ways to support them, because buying used does not.
Eh, my best coworker is an LLM. Full of shit, like the rest of them, but always available and willing to help out.
I’d be more inclined to call this a misc utensils drawer. I have one just like it, with many of the same items, but I also have a true “junk drawer”, but it has anything but utensils in it. Like, batteries, screws, magnifying glass, fire starters, a deck of cards, etc. All of the shit that ends up near the kitchen that doesn’t have a whole space dedicated to similar things, finds a home in the junk drawer.
Weird how “a nation of immigrants” wants to know where they are from.
Seriously, stop using Windows. If you set up a new computer, use Linux. Compared to everything we had in the 1990’s when we all decided to buy a computer and connect to the internet, modern Linux is fucking awesome, so think of it like prestiging in Call of Duty. You go back to the 90’s and start over, but it’s not nearly as bad, and it’s for a good cause.
Family need a new computer? Linux, Mac OS. Work need services deployed? Linux, FreeBSD.
Stop using Windows. Please. I stopped in 2013 and I’ve never been happier, it’s not been easy but I’m better now because of it and when I have to see Windows I fucking cringe and wonder how people can do it.
Break your addiction to the GUI, it’s not better than CLI, it augments it. Break your addiction to download and double click .exe to install applications. Break your addition video games that require Windows, you can run anything in Steam now (sans VR 😿). Break your addiction to your OS stopping you to apply “updates” and breaking your shit and blue screen frown face and moving your start windows logo button from the far left where it’s been for decades to the middle and showing you ads and introducing spy features and forcing their browser on you and their search engine and promising you good changes and good software just to deploy a half-baked product and begging you to “just wait it’ll get better”, to have it die in your arms and have ms just walk up rip it out of your arms and replace it with more half-baked software and promises, over and over. Break your addiction to MS telling you this is the last OS that you will ever buy every fucking release, having features taken from you and placed behind a pay wall, having simple applications like notepad which might have been fine in 1993 but then just remain the same for literally 20 fucking years, just to be overhauled to have tabs, something that notepad++ (which is free) has had since the beginning. Break your addiction to the abuse, this company is buying nuclear power plants to run datacenters to process data about you, that they basically are forcing you to be okay with, so that they can further increase their profit margins, and or enable governments to survey the public for whatever reason they deem necessary.
I’ve never worked with a worst registrar. It’s always a high priority to move our domains and assets away from them after acquisitions. There’s really no excuse for how bad they are.
They’re purposely not getting it.
One of the biggest hurdles, and one of the only reasons Windows is still alive. Linux doesn’t have a decent AD alternative.
I think I heard some very large governments, maybe Germany, was going to completely abandon Windows soon. This will generate a ton of demand for an AD alternative so I’m excited to see what happens.
Until then you have ansible, or salt may be more suitable for workstations 🤷
I’ve heard Fedora is looking to integrate AI into the OS.
While I hope they take the opportunity to think about this decision and do it wisely, I have little faith. Investors are foaming at the mouth for AI integration. It’s like, the noodles are definitely not done on this yet and investors want to have the first noodles to the market so the marching orders are for every two noodles you see throw one and see if it sticks. You end up with a kitchen with uncooked noodles all over the place and you’re slipping over them and it’s slowing you down and you’re running out of noodles in the pot so you have to add more and this makes it even harder to to find one of the more cooked noodles but the investors are whipping you to find the perfect noodle as they have a full erection and a crazed look in their eyes.
Sorry, got carried away.
