I upgraded my Surface Pro 3’s to Kubuntu just this week. Should have done it ages ago. They run faster and cooler now.

That soap makes my hand crack and bleed. The though of using that on my whole body is painful.
That was a lovely rant on semantics. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
I think the internet as a whole is going to be the closest we’ll ever come. Capitalism will make sure it’s never even close to complete so it always has something to monetize.
Yes, you are viewing the post that was made on Lemmy.ca, federation allows you to see posts on other instances. You are able to see the post and comment because of federation, lemmy.world grabs a cached copy to show it’s users, the actual post is still on the original server. If you want to share a post, and let others interact in the comments, the link needs to be to the actual post. If you just want them to see something, and not know where it came from, a screenshot might be better.
I’ve never had a need for the headphone jack, so I didn’t care one way or another when they started dissappearing. But, I can definitely see how removing such a simple and cheap port from phones would be such an issue for a lot of people. No one should be forced into replacing accessories that work perfectly for no reason, just adds to all the damned e-waste already generated.
I have been slowly de-googling my life. I bought a domain, and have my email hosted on no-ip.com for like $15 a year now. Has been working great for the past 8 months. I have switched all my important login accounts to those accounts. I’m still keeping the spammy store logins and such on Google. The only thing worrying me about loosing with my Google account are all my app purchases going back back to the day it existed.
How would that work? The post exists on that instance. You’re home instance just caches a copy. To share from your home instance the post would need to be recreated on that instance, so a new community with the same name would need to be created with it.
Only if I can get fiber internet.
How long before sea level rise just submerges Florida?
