I wonder what the recidivism rate (for lack of a better term) is for EV drivers? I don’t think ill ever buy another pure ICE vehicle ever again

This sounds like an excellent sign for MH wilds on PC
I do have a 64gb m1 MacBook Pro and man that thing screams at doing LLM AI. I use it to serve models locally throughout my house, while it otherwise still works as a fantastic computer (usually using about half the ram for llm usage). I still prefer a 4080 for image generation though.
If Concord’s launch was a rocket, it would have bored a hole into the launch pad because the thrusters were backward, and I don’t think anyone would have called it a “launch” in any conventional sense.
So how can it be a comeback if it never even came?
Now they don’t say hurricane anymore unless it’s sponsored by Coca-Cola. Hope you guys are enjoying the Big Storm.
So am I allowed to say how the consideration of how an EV would have fit in with your 50 mile commute is irrelevant to the discussion since we are apparently only focused on the 3 minute gas break you currently enjoy?
The type of place where people describe themselves as spiritual but not religious.
The discussion is about the ownership experience. You clearly don’t own an ev but have lots of thoughts about how inconvenient it would be to stop an extra 15 minutes a few times a year. You’ve gotta balance that against the massive benefits an ev provides, one of which is a massively lower cost of ownership vs the n times a year you find yourself road tripping, which for most people isn’t really that often
OK well in this mode you’d spend 17 more minutes and save thousands of dollars in fuel costs?
Yeah taken as a guideline and observation that computer speeds/storage/etc continue to improve, I think it’s fair. It may not always be double, but it is still significantly different than other physical processes which have “stagnated” by a similar metric (like top speed on an average vehicle or miles per gallon).
Seriously the ”it” is just two stories up on my feed. I just showed all this to my partner in reverse like Memento.
Yeah it felt like the Bible and the white/yellow pages used the thinnest paper I’d ever seen
Hmm, I bought a prebuilt in 2019 and the most annoying thing about upgrading it was that it had a custom motherboard, power supply and the case wasn’t compatible with anything else. I read the thread but missed who your prebuilt was from, as that might have a lot of bearing on how customizable your system is as a platform.
gosh who would want an uncommon character that obviously most average people aren’t thinking about in their passwords, that sounds like it might even be somewhat secure.
You’ll get (at least one) cat as a regular companion that you can bring on all your hunts and there are many more cute hats for them that you can dress them in. They also enjoy it. :)
I assume my niece, who is 13, knows who Tom Hanks is.
So one of my “oh shit I’m old” moments, 10 years ago was a 19 year old friend of my neighbor who had no idea that the Jackson 5 were related to Michael Jackson. He thought they were “Michael Jackson and his 4 black friends”. So, check that assumption lol
I see. I have some old computers kicking around, I actually just deployed a windows media server, but that could easily be a Linux server and probably should be. That system I could easily boot only Linux so that appeals.
The issue with my main PC is that it has multiple terabytes of windows -related stuff. I get how I could read the old drives but there are terabytes of games that I’d have to reinstall to do that on that computer (compatibility issues aside) it sounds like
I could do that, but how does Linux see/interact with my Windows stuff? Am I double-installing games to run-as-Windows with something like Proton? (like a Linux install and a Windows install on the old drive?)
Oh I thought the sign was going to say “we have to sacrifice everything we believe in for the incredibly narrow issues going on in a single state because of the Electoral College, that’s how democracy works you dumbfuck” but my eyes are getting bad
Which did you get? I think I can see a gas truck if I ever actually had need for it, but like you said it’s hard to know where the infrastructure will be in a decade, but if the rate of people leaving EVs is low this type of stuff is going to be pretty locked in moving forward.
