Just wait until you are older. Youll get it.

Don’t respond if it is mostly “Blue MAGA” and “Genocide Joe”
It could also be instance admins fucking around.
You should out the users and topics they are engaging with.
Only twice?
I mean if you think what he does is easy then go to med school. Debt for a medical degree pays back 100x over a 20 year career. If you believe that you can do it, then there is no excuse not to.
Fuck a lot.
Meh, it’s depends on what you do. I know several low level C engineers who would be far more comfortable rolling a fresh driver over doing some more abstract intro CS projects.

I still have [religious figure]@gmail.com
The account is completely overrun with spam. And there are about 20 people who seem to think it is their actual email address and I get like legit power bills and stuff on it.

END of a genetic line, the end of a name, the end of a dynasty, the end of a family. These things are hugely important to people.
Ohhh noo…
Anyway.
They are definitely in a weird position. On one hand, the current state of internet advertising is horrifying. This has nothing to do with anything Firefox has done. On the other hand, trying to explain to privacy absolutists why these innovations in targeted advertising is actually a revolutionary leap in user privacy, is obviously never going to take.
I don’t know, I am on the fence about the XYT FULLFORGE lithium powered, rechargable electronic kitchen knife I saw on reddit. I just don’t know if I can trust the comments which say it stays sharp forever, and I am very skeptical that it truly has the fastest cutting speed of any knife on the market. Perhaps I will go read the Amazon reviews again to get more information about the patented digital motor design.
Me wondering why the Firefox package archive is suddenly controversial…
does anybody think they’re not trustworthy?
I didn’t until I read that sentence. I actually get what they are trying to do here, but good grief…
Nah, more like “Russian bots exist and some people I disagree with are Russian bots.” Which is pretty much the entire premise of the article.
It’s also pretty easy to tell the difference IMO. The trolls tend to just do nothing but troll and flame. They don’t really spend much time engaging on other topics.
As far as why I think Lemmy is a training ground? Call it a hunch. Obviously I don’t have a notarized letter from a troll farm saying that they are in control of a certain worldnews forum, but a lot of the usual suspects fit a bit too neatly into that box to not raise an eyebrow. There are some other patterns as well but its definitely all circumstantial.
And before people say “not Lemmy, we are too small” - It’s pretty obvious that a major Lemmy instance is literally a training ground for these recruits before they get promoted to Facebook and reddit duty (either intentionally or otherwise). There have been a few narratives this election which seem to have been tested out on here weeks before getting to Facebook and reddit. “Blue MAGA” was a pretty obvious one they seemed to workshop on Lemmy.
If you never browse all, you probably miss it, but anything which is politics or news adjacent is filled with campist brain rot from people who think “socialism” is relitigating the cold war. Then you will get banned for saying things like “remember that time Russia shot down a civilian airliner?” or “I don’t think sexual violence is a right of the oppressed.”
