So Trump’s going to skyrocket inflation and debt again? Like he did last time and that this administration is finally in the late stages of cleaning up?

This happens basically any time a Republican president is elected. They shit all over the economy, tank it and finally when Democrats clean everything up these morons cry “I was better off under the guy that fucked up everything.”

I keep seeing everywhere that voters voted on the economy, yet no one seems to be pointing out the exhausting, blatantly obvious truth. It’s been happening for what, 20+ years now?

Republicans make a mess, Democrats are always forced to clean it up. So pardon me if I think the voters are idiots.

I think there’s some merit to this, I had blonde hair as a child and now when I go to the beach a lot during the summer is starts to lighten again.

In my case Ruby was my next step. I tried to learn Python later on but it always felt like a step back. Unfortunately Python is much more popular though for some reason so YMMV.

Not super grim, but I worked in a hot warehouse unpacking cheap clothing from China, repacking it and watching the owners turn around and sell it on Groupon for a huge profit. Sometimes their family members would stop by in brand new Mercedes, BMW and other high-end luxury cars.

The others and myself were all promised better jobs like product photographer, website designer, etc. I only lasted there one week.

One of my chihuahuas does this too but doesn’t sneeze.

I actually still crack up whenever I see unhinged.

Mine is till instead of ’til to mean until and a in “two times a year” instead of per. I still say “two times a year” myself but when writing it looks so unprofessional and I always notice it in news publications.

I think it’s a CSS issue. Word wrapping won’t break apart the amount because it’s considered one “word.”

There are ways to address it though.

I feel like this is claiming that Windows has better UI/UX which I always find hilarious.

Which 20 versions of UI are you talking about? Is it Ribbon, Metro, 9x, XP, or half of the non-native JS apps that Microsoft pushes on its own platform (especially funny to me considering they ditch their own UI API)?

Linux can be a very crummy UX too, but using Windows as some sort of standard for comparison is a joke.

While working in fast food working as a manager I had a store manager that would cuss you out, but one thing I loved about her is I would cuss back and explain myself to which she’d be like “oh, that makes sense.”

Their app was so futuristic on the original iPhone, then it went to shit pretty quick. It looks/behaves like an unmaintained Ruby on Rails 3.1 app.

I’d totally check it out but I have 100% of Google blocked. 💀

I don’t have a great answer but I’m sure most modern browsers have locked down their address bar (and bookmarks) enough that it’s not possible without enabling developer features.

I’d say start on Ubuntu too. I actually kind of hate it, but it’s was my second or third Linux distro and was stable enough to jump into it, learn stuff then form an opinion about what I want in a distro and move on.

I think a lot of people get hung up on this — for basic use, a lot of distros offer more or less the same things. It’s when you start to drill into the lower level stuff (that you’re probably not now concerned with) that you become pickier with distros.

I’m actually happy to say I haven’t necessarily had any bad programming related interviews. In fact, as someone with zero professional development experience but a healthy portfolio (side business for former employer, systems built for prior jobs not related to development) I’d say it was almost too easy to finally land a full time development job.

I don’t think I’d make that information public were I in their shoes. Wouldn’t that be a hint for anyone attempting to crack them?

I’m explaining why I’m a programmer for some context why I’m interested in technology, not to argue that all programmers hate gaming.

I was replying against the smug “you must’ve been born in the 2000s” comment. I’m arguing that not everyone is into gaming just because this is a technology community, and to maybe drop the attitude because someone isn’t cOoL like them because they were born earlier. 🙄

Everywhere I go people meander like zombies whether it’s walking, driving, shopping, etc. I can’t figure out why people are soooooo slow, do they have nothing to accomplish? It constantly puts me off, but it’s probably because I moved to a big city in the west (US) coast.
