She is very well known and brings a lot of publicity wherever she goes. This publicity is important for the movement to succeed.

She is well known but not successful. Creating publicity makes no difference if it does not affect change.

IMO our “greatest activists” would be successful. Bono, of U2, is one of the biggest advocates for HIV and AIDS reduction/treatment. He has been very successful at encouraging action on this issue I would call him a great activist. Thuneberg has been largely ignored.

“Great activist” Bono has been mostly silent on the ongoing genocide in Gaza for the past 20 months.

The “great activist” has been releasing tepid statements running cover for genocidal Israel as he continues his strong financial ties with the country doing ethnic cleansing in broad daylight.

Could’ve predicted that from this turd.
          Same category as Sean Penn.
          All the same paid shills.
Can’t shut up when an enemy of the west can be critiised and crawl under a rock when they commit warcrimes.
Worst is Amal Clooney, whose job it is to supposedly investigate warcrimes.
Apparently she has been ‘too busy’ for more than a year to do or say anything about Palestine.

Just look at that website: https://cfj.org/

The most obscure conflicts, Kashmir, Maledives or whatever.
Somehow they overlooked one. Painfully obvious.

The activism I highlighted him being successful in is his HIV activism. Is he obligated to represent every single issue you find important or does he have the right to make his own choices?

Bono has seen success in his endeavors. Thuneberg has seen little to no success so I don’t think we should be calling her “the greatest” as the greats are successful.

He doesn’t have to be an activist for every issue, but it is a giant stain on his legacy of activism when he runs cover for an ongoing Holocaust.

Most activists are motivated by humanist ideals, but the issue of Gaza makes it obvious that Bono is not an ethical humanist, so his activism must be motivated by other desires.

Serious question here what do you mean “running cover”? Im not a U2 fan I was just using him as an example of an activist who has been successful. If he’s defending Israel Im unaware of this.

Under lots of pressure, Bono recently released his most forceful statement on the subject

“Hamas, release the hostages. Stop the war. Israel, be released from Benjamin Netanyahu and far-right fundamentalists that twist your sacred texts"

This statement perpetuates two Israeli propaganda lies: 1) Hamas is able to end the war by releasing hostages, and 2) The genocidal project is the sole responsibility of Netanyahu and Likud, and not the greater Jewish supremacist movement that has controlled Israel since it’s inception.

And to be clear, this is Bono’s best statement on the subject. You can Google his earlier statements to find more genocide denial and Hasbara propaganda.

Essentially you get to pick and choose which actions of each you’d like to use for comparison especially if it fits your narrative.
