I see that a bunch of people here got triggered by my initial post. I am sorry, that was never my intention and I certainly never meant to be toxic. I simply wanted to discuss the change in gamer demographics over the last decades. It seems obvious to me that video games, developing from a hobby typical for computer nerds, into a mainstream form of entertainment that almost everyone consumes on a daily basis, also changed the way games are being designed. It seems trivial and I still don understand how pointing it out could be seen as toxic. How can “Git good” with an /s for sarcasm be toxic at all, especially when considering we are not even talking about a certain game here? I apologize and offer to delete my initial comment because I see many here are taking it the wrong way, what do you think, should I delete?

“git gud” implies “you are bad and need to do better”. Even in a “joking” matter, it makes you look like a dick. It is obvious to anyone who isn’t toxic or elitist. Just because you are surrounded by toxic people all the time, telling you “git gud” “gg ez” doesn’t mean it’s not toxic.
Seems times have changed indeed, seeing an elitist gamer like this would be unheard of a few decades ago.
