Both Russians and Israelis believe theyre doing the right thing, while slaughtering innocents en masse.
If you actually were right, it would mean that Russians are more redeemable than Israelis, because if Israel is a democracy, then the majority are genocidal maniacs, as opposed to being a subjects to a genocidal government.
But this comment isn’t for you, as you’re one of the brainwashed people and would never ever admit any flaw with your brainwasher.

I live in Russia, so very subjective, but this is true. There’s no support, but there’s nothing more to say, it all has been discussed 2 years ago.
Israelis I mostly meet on the Web, so it would seem uncertain due to all the bots and loud morons, but sadly my relatives there seem to be in denial of reality too.
EDIT: I remember somebody saying in my childhood that Zhirinovsky etc are useful to show how this kind of (genocidal/jingoist/anti-intellectualist/…) politicians in a democracy looks as opposed to power gained non-democratically.
Israel is the aggressor too, violently colonizing and ethnically cleansing the local population. The Palestinians are just defending themselves against their own destruction. But it’s an unfair fight, because they only have small make-shift rockets against Israel with a big army and getting billions from the biggest empire in the world.
The fact that Israel has a democracy is of no concern to the civilians in Gaza being bombed and starved to death. In fact, it makes it worse: Russians can’t vote out their government, but Israelis can.

How is it a democracy when Arab Israelis are second class citizens. Palestinians under Israeli Military Law are less than that
Israel has dropped tens of thousands of bombs so far on civilian (power) targets since October. After decades of Terrorism in Gaza.
Israel has targeted civilians since 1947 with the Labor party.
Unfortunately, countries with elections in which there is a legally binding demographic imbalance are still considered democracies.
Which is why even Switzerland, which did not allow women to vote until 1971, was still considered a democracy.
