Earlier this month, the University of Florida closed its Office of the Chief Diversity Officer, eliminating 13 full-time DEI positions and 15 administrative appointments. This came after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill called the Stop Woke Act last year, which prohibits the use of state funds for any DEI programs.

Believe it or not, not everything is about money. Minority students really do spend time thinking about personal safety when weighing college options.

which prohibits the use of state funds for any DEI programs.

Seem fair to me. If these people care so much about diversity, they can pay for it themselves or do it on their own dime.

But let’s be real: they don’t care that much. They just wanted a cushy job with no responsibilities or room for failure.

The athletes have leverage with the schools and can help their fellow POC who are getting the shaft by the dissolution of the DEI initiatives.

The question will be if the athletes are going to use the leverage. But I can imagine that of you have choice between a Florida school and any other location… athletes will weigh the nuveau racism of some states.
