I felt like I had it all figured out when I was 19 in the Army. It wasn’t until a few years later that I realized I didn’t know shit. These men are young, kids really, but it doesn’t feel appropriate to call them boys considering everything they’ve done to get into this picture, and everything they did after it was taken. They had the weight of the world thrust upon them, and they shouldered it like men.
He’s a corporal, so he’s been in the Army a few years. He’s probably 22 years old, unless he was an Eagle Scout before joining, then he might be 19, since Eagle Scouts get an automatic PFC rank after basic. So he’s somewhere between 19-22, he just has a baby face. The average age of US soldiers in WWII was 26 years old, but skewed younger as the war dragged on. These men would have been between 17 years old (with parental consent) and their late 20’s.
2 sounds rad, but really expensive, hard to pull off, and might scare some potential dates away if you’re still dating.
It’s hard to go wrong with 3.
It has always been about money for the labels, but they at least used to take risks, and find new talented bands, develop them, and promote them. But it’s riskier and takes a lot more work. An artist needs a minimum of about 10,000 hours of experience before they’re studio ready, and the whole band needs to be at that level. If they find someone new and unique at that level, they still need to develop them as performers, and get them prepared to play big gigs, tour, work together in a studio, etc… It’s much easier for them to find someone attractive who knows some dance moves, and have them perform studio written songs based on proven profitable beats.
Riding a motorcycle has always been pretty intuitive to me, but I grew up glued to my bicycle, so it all clicked pretty fast once I learned how to manage the extra weight.
Because there’s more money in it, and everything is all about money now.
He didn’t play music of the era at the dance. He would go back to 1994 and play something from today. But music hasn’t really evolved since then, so nobody would be shocked. He’d end up doing some dance number while lip-syncing a studio written pop song.
Edit: ah you’re talking about when he first starts playing Chuck Berry with the band. I was thinking about the end of the performance when he slips into playing heavy metal and freaks everyone out.
I remember thinking that I wasn’t happy everyone was comparing him to Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Janis Joplin, saying he joined the 27 club. The fact that he killed himself felt like an exclusionary detail.
I can’t imagine not shifting a motorcycle. It’s like being part of the bike. But I’ve ridden for 30+ years.
Btw I now understand the hate towards manual cars. Automatic should be the only option
This is a big problem with people these days. You admitted you suck at driving, you’re just barely learning how to do it, but you think you’re qualified to mandate what is available to everyone else? You do not have enough experience to have an opinion that affects other people. Stick shift is completely intuitive when you know how to do it.
Yes, it’s one of the most useful keys. I haven’t used file explorers for applications in forever. Hit the Windows key, type a couple letters of the program you want, hit enter.
You can’t get groceries delivered in California?
But then you forget to put that back in the trunk too.
Yeah it’s really dumb. They got rid of the thin bags, and replaced them with bags that use 20x more plastic. I guess people are supposed to reuse those, but very few people do. Their big brain idea was to use 20x more plastic to stop all the plastic waste.
It is in his nature. He is greedy. He is cheap. He is crap.
