Aphantasia gang takes offense to this
Unless you have aphantasia. People with aphantasia are unable to mentally visualize. I close my eyes and it’s just blackness all the time.
Aphantasia is very intriguing for me. Everytime I try to think about it, I just can’t picture it.
I can’t visualize a tetris block, much less a whole tetris game. I think I could draw all the tetris blocks if I tried so the information is there, just not stored as jpg. More like a zipped text file.
My favorite tetris fact is that it may help with PTSD flashbacks. Link for the curious.
Since learning about this, I have decided to keep the game installed on my phone in case something wild happens (I’m thinking after witnessing an accident or something). It is sort of comforting to have a scientifically backed up mental strategy that is easily accessible, even if it’s not a lot. I gather that tetris keeps the part of your brain responsible for looping images occupied with, well, tetris.
Horizontal I block all the way to the left… horizontal I block next to the previous one… square block on the right.
